Gewerblich reines Nickel

High purity nickel alloys (99%+) characterized by excellent resistance to caustic alkalis, high electrical and thermal conductivity, and good magnetostrictive properties.

Available Nickel Grades
Nickel 200 Commercially Pure

Nickel 200

The standard grade of commercially pure wrought nickel (UNS N02200). It has excellent mechanical properties and resistance to many corrosive environments, particularly caustic soda.

99.6% Pure Caustic Resistance Temp < 600°F

Nickel 201 Low Carbon

Nickel 201

The low-carbon version of Nickel 200 (UNS N02201). The lower carbon content prevents embrittlement by intergranular carbon at temperatures above 600°F (315°C).

Technical Overview: Why Pure Nickel?

Unmatched Caustic Resistance

Commercially pure nickel is arguably the best material for handling high concentrations of caustic soda (sodium hydroxide) and other alkalis at high temperatures. It forms a protective oxide film that prevents further attack.

Electrical & Thermal Conductivity

Unlike highly alloyed materials like Inconel, pure nickel retains high thermal and electrical conductivity, making it essential for electronic components, lead wires, and battery connections.

Grade Comparison: 200 vs. 201
Legierung Key Difference (Carbon) Temperature Limit Primary Application
Nickel 200
(UNS N02200)
0.15% max Carbon Up to 600°F (315°C) Caustic evaporators, chemical shipping drums, food processing equipment.
Nickel 201
(UNS N02201)
0.02% max Carbon Above 600°F (315°C) High-temperature caustic handling, electronic components, spun anodes.

*Crucial Note: Using Nickel 200 above 600°F can lead to graphitization, severely embrittling the material. Nickel 201 must be specified for high temperatures.

Häufig gestellte Fragen
Is Nickel 201 dual-certified?

Yes, it is common for Nickel 201 to be dual-certified as Nickel 200/201. This means the material meets the low carbon requirement of 201 AND the higher strength requirements typically associated with 200.

Is pure nickel magnetic?

Yes, Nickel 200 and 201 are ferromagnetic at room temperature. They have a relatively high Curie temperature of approximately 680°F (360°C).
