Elements like molybdenum, tungsten, and chromium are alloyed into the nickel austenitic matrix (the gamma phase) to distort the crystal lattice, resisting dislocation movement. More importantly, titanium, aluminum, and niobium are introduced to form microscopic intermetallic precipitates\u2014specifically the gamma prime (\u03b3&#8217;) and gamma double-prime (\u03b3&#8221;) phases.<\/p>\n<p
