Concentration, contaminants, flow velocity, deposits, stress, thermal cycling and dissimilar-metal contact can move a component outside the published guidance for any nickel alloy.<\/p>\n<p>Potential alternatives include Alloy 800H for creep-led design, Alloy 625 for combined wet corrosion, or 310 stainless where temperature and chemistry are less severe. These are not automatic substitutions. Record normal and upset temperature, pressure or vacuum, pH, concentration, dissolved oxygen, halides, sulfur, solids, velocity and cleaning chemicals. Laser or waterjet cutting for profiles, controlled forming, clean GTAW welding, avoid carbon-steel contamination and remove heat tint where specified. A supplier should quote the delivered condition, intermediate treatment and any final stabilization or aging separately.
