Concentration, contaminants, flow velocity, deposits, stress, thermal cycling and dissimilar-metal contact can move a component outside the published guidance for any nickel alloy.<\/p>\n<p>Potential alternatives include Alloy 725 for higher-strength seawater fasteners, Alloy 718 for precipitation-strength parts, or Monel K500 for selected marine shafting. These are not automatic substitutions. Record normal and upset temperature, pressure or vacuum, pH, concentration, dissolved oxygen, halides, sulfur, solids, velocity and cleaning chemicals.
