In practical terms, the designer should compare the full service envelope rather than a single marketing claim. Concentration, contaminants, flow velocity, deposits, stress, thermal cycling and dissimilar-metal contact can move a component outside the published guidance for any nickel alloy.<\/p>\n<p>Potential alternatives include Waspaloy or Alloy 80A for higher temperature capability, Alloy 625 where weldability and corrosion resistance dominate, or A286 for lower temperature stainless-strength applications. These are not automatic substitutions. Record normal and upset temperature, pressure or vacuum, pH, concentration, dissolved oxygen, halides, sulfur, solids, velocity and cleaning chemicals. A supplier should quote the delivered condition, intermediate treatment and any final stabilization or aging separately.
