Inconel 600

Inconel 600 Nickel Chromium Alloy

Inconel® 600

UNS N06600 | W.Nr. 2.4816 | Alloy 600

Inconel 600 is a standard nickel-chromium alloy designed for use from cryogenic to elevated temperatures in the range of 2000°F (1093°C). The high nickel content enables the alloy to retain considerable resistance under reducing conditions and makes it immune to chloride-ion stress-corrosion cracking.

  • Common Forms: Pipe, Tube, Sheet, Strip, Round Bar, Wire.
  • Key Feature: Immune to chloride-ion stress-corrosion cracking (SCC).
  • Heat Resistance: Excellent oxidation resistance up to 2150°F.
  • Weldability: Readily joined by conventional welding processes.
Why Choose Inconel 600?

Inconel 600 is a versatile material used in applications that require resistance to corrosion and heat. Its high nickel content gives the alloy excellent resistance to alkaline solutions and chloride-ion stress-corrosion cracking, making it a reliable choice for the chemical and power generation industries.

High Temperature Stability

Resists oxidation and scaling at temperatures up to 2150°F (1175°C). It also resists carburization and nitriding.

Corrosion Resistance

Excellent resistance to dry chlorine and hydrogen chloride gases. It is also resistant to many organic and inorganic compounds.

Stress Corrosion Immunity

The high nickel content (min. 72%) provides virtual immunity to chloride-ion stress-corrosion cracking, a common failure mode in stainless steels.
